The heart of our project

In detail

The Chamonix Photo Festival will rely on the following elements:
Exhibitions throughout the valley.
Screenings of films, documentaries, conferences, meetings, and debates.
A base camp set up at the Majestic with meetings, signings, equipment tests, and training sessions.
Workshops to learn modern tools (Photoshop, Lightroom…) to master post-production.
Field outings with workshops (with the Chamonix Guides Company) including
real-life equipment tests.

About twenty internationally renowned photographers will exhibit their work, and you can engage in discussions with them about their photographs. For this first edition, two venues have been selected: the Majestic and the Kandahar room (in the arrival area of the famous World Cup ski race).

Outdoor exhibitions spread across all the municipalities in the Chamonix Valley with over 300 photographs presented.

Vallorcine

An outdoor exhibition along the SNCF train station parking lot and at the Tourist Office.

Argentière

An outdoor exhibition in the village house gardens and on the village square.

Chamonix

From the SNCF train station to the Majestic congress center, passing through Poilu Square, Michel Croz Avenue, the town hall, and in front of the Mont Blanc Hotel, around a hundred photographs will be presented outdoors.
In the Majestic lounges, renowned photographers will showcase their works.
A conference room, a planetarium, brands, and a panel of professionals working in photography will be at your disposal.

Les Houches

In the arrival area of the famous World Cup downhill, talented photographers will present their work along with a conference room.
Outside the room, over fifty photographs will be exhibited with the Chamonix Valley and its Mont Blanc massif as a backdrop.
In front of the town hall, ten photos will introduce the festival.

Servoz

An outdoor exhibition between the church and the community hall.

Throughout the weekend, conferences will be offered in our two exhibition halls.

For this first year, at the VOX cinema in Chamonix, we offer two screenings by our patron, Jeremie Villet, and wildlife filmmaker Baptiste Deturche.

A contest open to all photographers with 5 themes will lead to an outdoor exhibition in front of the Hotel Mont-Blanc.

The springboard

We want to support and highlight the work of a young photographer (criteria: under 30 years old). With an already found sponsor, we are organizing a dossier competition. 12 to 14 American boxes and Dibond will be offered, and a special place at the Majestic will be reserved for the winner.
